About the Event Safety Alliance Reopening Guides:
As states reopen and allow small groups of people to gather in public, there is a need for guidance on how small events and venues can reopen as safely as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, the Event Safety Alliance, along with LASSO and more than 300 professionals from the live event industry, created The Event Safety Alliance Reopening Guide (and a 6-month updated version).
These documents were designed to provide information for all event professionals. Therefore, the original guide strikes a balance between a simple checklist and an exhaustive consideration of all options. The redeveloped version gives readers a comprehensive update with the best available information we have now. The goal of these guides is to provide enough information so each user can make their own choices due to their own circumstances.
What’s included in the Reopening Guide:
- Planning to Reopen: When it’s Legal and Reasonably Safe
- Patron Education
- Worker Health and Hygiene
- Sanitizing the Venue
- Ingress and Egress
- Front of House Circulation, Food and Beverage, and Merchandise
- Production Issues
- Legal Issues
- Resources for Further Reading
What’s included in the 6-month update:
- Status of the pandemic
- Public health guidance
- Operational lessons learned this year
- Challenges faced
- Health and safety resources
There is no guarantee of an illness-free event. However, we can all protect live events and the people who create them as well as instill trust in the patrons that attend them with proper planning, training, and implementation of reasonable health and safety measures.
